Programming is a Marathon, not a Sprint.

So I started becoming interested in programming last year. It gets frustrating sometimes but I’ve loved every bit of it. Initially I didn’t want to get involved in this software field because the competition is very high. So many good and advanced programmers with so many years of experience and I always thought that I wouldn’t be able to meet up.

But permit me to reiterate : PROGRAMMING IS A MARATHON, NOT A SPRINT. Every master you see out there, every mentor you admire, got to where they are through practice. The truth is once you decide to commit to the world of software, you commit to being a lifelong learner. Even the “masters" still have a lot to learn. So if you’re like me, and you have interest in software engineering / development / programming, if you dream of using lines of code to change the world and affect billions of people, but you’re too scared to start because of the competition and obviously imposter syndrome, I want to tell you that you’re not alone. But start anyway. Remember :

Nothing good comes easy, it takes much practice.

Programming is a life long journey. It’s beautiful, it’s sweet, it can be frustrating, but most of all, it is fulfilling. Cheers 💖
